Baqua Resort, Chiang Rai, Thailand
College of Tao is in partnership with Baqua Resort on the Mae Kok river outside of Chiang Rai, Thailand.
From the resort: Ba Qua Resort was inspired by the esoteric teachings of Ni, Hua Ching (Omni) who often visited the site, did his cultivation, and wrote his books. He stated this land bounded by the Mae Kok river on two sides was ideal for spiritual cultivation. Given such an inspiration, the founder, James Tuggle, began a five year project of designing, building and completing the resort. The resort or compound consists of a main house, built with "feng shui" and "ba qua" principles, two traditional Thai or Lanna style houses, a large orchard with numerous fruit trees, such as rambutan, dragon fruit, lichee, longan, and jack fruit. Pineapple also grows on the land. Two auxiliary buildings which accommodate four guest rooms. There are also three strategically located "salas" or gazebos where one can sit listening to the river or practice your tai chi as Omni often did.
The main esoteric attraction of this site is the presence of the Mae Kok river which bounds the property on two sides. The bend in the river splashing over the embedded rocks (named water dragon rock by Omni) gives a soothing, uplifting sound to the entire property. The headwaters for this river are high in the Tibetan plateau and flow through miles of jungle forest in Myanmar before it reaches our site. Tourist boats ply this river daily taking tourists to the elephant sanctuary 5 kilometers west of the property. Just beyond the elephant sanctuary is a natural hots spring. Also within reach are many restaurants and sights to see. The property has a tour guide who is a native of the region who will happily take guests out for adventures and fun. Less than 100 kilometers from China, Myanmar, and Laos, visits can be arranged in one day. This area is famously known as, "The Golden Triangle" because of its closeness to other countries and its rich beauty.
The Shrine of the Heavenly Way, as blessed by OmNi, is housed here to facilitate the esoteric teachings of the Ni family esoteric Taoist teachings.

Ashland, Oregon
Deep in a gentle valley in the woods of South Eastern Oregon is the former residence of OmNi who spent 10 years in seclusion among the blue sky, trees, streams and fertile earth. During his time in seclusion, he wrote and published 30 books—a large body of works that comprised the core curriculum of College of Tao. Led by efforts of Peter Stege and other volunteers the residence it has been lovingly converted to a College of Tao Retreat Center hosting small groups for instructor intensives.
